Learning Objectives:
- Establish an appropriate differential diagnosis for soft tissue tumors of fibroblastic/myofibroblastic origin, subtypes of rhabdomyosarcoma, and undifferentiated round cell sarcomas.
- Apply immunohistochemistry to facilitate accurate diagnosis soft tissue tumors of fibroblastic/myofibroblastic origin, subtypes of rhabdomyosarcoma, and undifferentiated round cell sarcomas.
- Order molecular genetic tests in select situations to arrive at a specific diagnosis for these mesenchymal tumors, particularly those with therapeutic and/or prognostic implications.
