Learning Objectives:
- Learn to recognize the most common tumors of the gallbladder and extrahepatic bile ducts and the precursor inflammatory and neoplastic lesions.
- Discuss the differential diagnosis of reactive atypia and neoplastic conditions in endoscopic biopsy specimens of the bile ducts.
- Become acquainted with the current terminology accepted by the WHO for preinvasive and invasive tumors of the gallbladder and extrahepatic bile ducts and discuss the problems inherent to this classification.
