- Recognize unusual inflammatory conditions in the gallbladder that mimic tumors clinically including IgG4 disease, xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis, and malakoplakia.
- Recognize EBV-related gastrointestinal masses including EBV-associated smooth muscle tumor and EBV-associated gastric adenocarcinoma.
- Recognize multiple patterns of apoptotic injury (single cell, apoptotic crypt abscess, dyskeratotic cell) and understand that the patterns of apoptosis vary by organ involved (esophagus, stomach, bowel).
