Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand that there are many things throughout the GI tract that are sampled by biopsy or by resection that have no names and no literature.
  2. Discuss gastric fundic gland polyps and recognize that they are not just characterized by cysts but more importantly they are the result of diffuse oxyntic mucosa disorder involving pits, glands and lamina propria.
  3. Recognize that inflammatory fibroid polyps in their two most common locations the distal stomach and the distal ileum look differently and have different growth characteristics but that they share the same PDGFRA mutations.
