  • Recognize and distinguish small bowel pathogens such as Giardia, Cyclospora, Microsporidia, and Cryptosporidia
  • Formulate a differential diagnosis for intraepithelial lymphocytosis in the small bowel
  • Recognize unusual patterns of inflammation that suggest a drug-induced injury in the gut
  • Distinguish infectious types of chronic enterocolitis from idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease
  • Recognize characteristic mucosal changes produced by checkpoint inhibitors 
  • Identify features of vasculitis in biopsy samples and distinguish them from chronic enterocolitis
