Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the usefulness and limitations of Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy (FNAB) in evaluating lymph nodes and soft tissue lesions in the head and neck region.
  • Learn to use morphologic features and clinical presentation to guide use of ancillary studies including immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and microbiology and employ Rapid OnSite Evaluation (ROSE) to collect appropriate materials for needed studies.
  • Learn the spectrum of morphologic findings in common and less common entities in the head and neck region.
