Learning Objectives:
  1. Recognize unusual inflammatory conditions in the gallbladder that mimic tumors clinically including IgG4 disease, xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis, and malakoplakia. 
  2. Recognize EBV-related gastrointestinal masses including EBV-associated smooth muscle tumor and EBV-associated gastric adenocarcinoma.
  3. Recognize multiple patterns of apoptotic injury (single cell, apoptotic crypt abscess, dyskeratotic cell) and understand that the patterns of apoptosis vary by organ involved (esophagus, stomach, bowel).
